The first session of the Community Matters:
Penny University Series, What is Good About Philanthropy?
Wednesday, Feb. 7at Barnes & Noble USF St. Petersburgat 6 p.m.
We will hear from noted community leader and philanthropist Gus Stavros, a member of USF St. Petersburg's Campus Board and Deni Elliott, Ed.D. Professor and Poynter Jamison Chair in Media Ethics and Press Policy.
Community Matters is an exciting new program developed and sponsored by the USF Alumni Association andthe USF St. Petersburg Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership.
The four part series will focus on Community Leadership. It is designed to educate participants about critical issues facing St. Petersburg, while providing learning and networking opportunities. Future topics will include St. Petersburg growth and development, education and the environment.
Each monthly session will include social networking opportunities and an issue based discussion. Through this program participants will become civically engaged, hone individual leadership skills and develop a personal network of St. Petersburg community and business leaders.
